Plantar warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are spread by skin to skin contact or contact with an infected surface through a break in the skin. Most warts are easily treated by application of medication in the office.
Dermatitis
Dermatitis can cause redness, scaling, and itching of the skin on your feet. Dermatitis can be caused by a chemical irritant such as a new soap or prolonged water exposure. Most flare-ups can be controlled with home care and medical treatment.
Athletes Foot
Athletes foot is caused by a fungus that gets into the skin of your feet and can cause itching and dry, flaking skin. Treatment consists of topical antifungals.
Wounds
Foot wounds are common in diabetic patients who have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. Wounds are important to treat in a clinical setting in order get the wound to heal properly and quickly to prevent infection into the soft tissue or bone.
